No. Read Urban Fantasy if you are sick of medieval Europe as a setting.

I'd probably go, "Historical fantasy about " or "fantasy ".

It may not work, but it is worth a shot.

Try Guy Gavriel Kay. The Lions of Al-Rassan based on Al-Andalus (European but not the usual area), The Sarantine Mosaic is based on the Byzantine Empire, and Under Heaven is based on Tang Dynasty China.

What do you want in your fantasy then? You don't want it set in old times, nor modern times. Do you want Future Fantasy?

There's other "old times" than Medieval Western Europe, which is a very specific setting within a much bigger setting when soooo much other interesting stuff was happening.

And there's other "modern times" than New York or LA plus vampires/werewolves/faeries.

Yeah, I am reading an Urban Fantasy book set in London which deals with river gods and possessions.

I mean, google does exist. You can find other stuff to read. Go to Goodreads and ask for recs. You just have to put in effort.
