But forgetting a kid in the car because you aren't generally the one to drive them to daycare or because they are an infant and turned around and sick so they don't make a noise and you are distracted or any of a number of things that happen when parents tragically forget their kids in the car are vastly different than forgetting a kid at home when you go on vacation. I could buy that they made it to the airport without Kevin, given all of the circumstances surrounding the event, but I can't buy getting on the plane and going to Paris without him.

Not that it really matters, as it is a comedy, and implausible/impossible things happen all of the time in comedy, but I think there very much is a difference, and I have no idea how a family would forget a kid like in the first movie.
