That's an unsatisfying situation to be in. TBH, if I get into fandom only to discover my ships aren't popular, I'm probably not going to be terribly interested or involved in the fandom; so much of fandom revolves around shipping now (which I'm not saying is a bad thing, I obsess over it too!) that there isn't exactly a lot of genfic to dig through if I'm not into the main pairings.

This could be good, though! If you write for the pairing there will be something there for old fans to read if/when they come back. (Or new fans of the pairing like you, who might be drawn in later.) That, or if you advertise it maybe it'll reach some people who might have an interest in it? (But wouldn't otherwise go looking for it.)

Anyway, yea, it's tough being excited and enthusiastic about something then having no one to discuss it with. (Maybe start a thread in GC one day, see if anyone shares your love.)
