Someone once related weight loss to video games for me. You know how in the beginning levels of a video game, you level up insanely easy? Like, all you have to do is run around on the map and BAM, you're up three levels and a slightly more dangerous rusty shortsword. But somewhere around the 10th level or so, leveling up takes longer, you have to garner way more XP for it, even as you finally get that goddamn broadsword that would choke a dragon.

He said weight loss is like that. In the beginning, as our bodies are going through major and quick(ish) change, the pounds drop off easy. But eventually we hit a higher level, and our bodies are adjusting, so we have to build up more XP for the leveling.

Does that make sense? I'm not sure if it does.
