what are your feelings on trans women participating in women only circles

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Hell fuckin yeah, they're ladies.

It is different with MtF. They need to curb some of those learned male impulses to talk over women and dominate the situation. If a Trans* woman wants to be part of the conversation she is more than welcome. If she wants to come in and make it all about her idea of what being a woman is then she can go suck a lemon. And yes I am looking at Caitlyn Jenner and her type.

As if most FtM's don't have a fuckton of female conditioning to curb. THAT's what people are talking about when they say someone sounds Trans. Something about the way they interact still feels female or male coded. Is it a nice thing to say? No. But it's accurate, and how often are we nice around here?

what a dumb comment

If they have transitioned and are living as women they currently have the same experiences and issues than cis women do BUT let's not forget that most of them weren't raised as women and they don't certainly have female bodies (fake boobs and vaginas are nice and all, but they don't have things like periods or can get pregnant).

So let them participate but bear in mind that in some aspects they don't share the same experiences than cis women have and in that case they should weigh their worlds.
