I don't get why they'd want anyone to grow up with parents who would have aborted them if they'd had the foresight to do it.

Because the sorts of people who make a huge fuss over stuff like this care more about having a cause to fight for than how their cause impacts others.

That's the most fucked up part of pro-life arguments. It's all for the good and the well-being and the life of the baby....who will be forced to grow up with parents who don't want it, who aren't in a good place emotionally to care for another human, who aren't financially able to give it the food or medical care it needs, who don't have the time between working 3 jobs to look after it... but does anyone step up beyond saying "you can't abort this baby" and actually do anything to care for the child after it's born? Nope.

The argument is that it is better to live life even a bad life than to get no chance at life at all. I don't agree, but that's the argument.

I guess that's where I fundamentally disagree (on both sides of life).

At most they'll tell you to just put up the child for adoption... because, y'know, it's not like there are any kids having problems getting adopted or anything!
