I still think TWS is my fave Marvel movie so far, it was really well done. Sam's introduction was great and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in Cap 3.

I try to keep myself as un-hyped as possible though for superhero movies because I don't want to expect too much from them, but I did like the Civil War trailer.

This is how I feel with films lately in general (Star Wars included), but I am failing at that fantastically. I am all but foaming at the mouth with excitement and it isn't good.

I mean, it is at the moment, but it won't be if I watch the thing and am massively disappointed because my expectations were too high.

However, I was SO looking forward to The Winter Soldier at the time of release, and that managed to still be better than I expected. Maybe this will be the same.

I'm doing an okay job of being mostly neutral towards Star Wars, but I am not a huge fan of the franchise anyway so it's pretty easy to do. I'm just hoping it'll be fun space shenanigans, and if anything else the cast is fucking adorable. Finn's actor is so damn cute.

Yeah we've got a couple of months for the excitement to die down, which I'll need a bit because my feelings are all ASJHRGJHS atm. Calm Night, calm.

See I actually went into TWS not expecting anything from it, just hoping it'd be good fun and I came out with FEELINGS. Also just thinking it was a really well done superhero flick.

Both Finn and Rey's actors are adorable and I'm shipping the characters already and this isn't a good sign. I'm definitely a fan, though not one of those fans who lives and breathes Star Wars; I'm casual while still being passionate, if that makes any sense. The trailers and the thought of the new cast really have me hyped. (Had the trailer not been so good, I know I would still be 'meh'.)

Unless Marvel releases a ton of new material to tease us with. In a way I don't want that because it's nice going into the film without knowing much, but another part of me is thirsty for whatever I can find.

It was! My excitement came from two very simple places though: I love Steve, and even in the first film I loved Steve/Bucky. A lot of people seemed to not be hooked by then, but I was and so the prospect of more was a great one. What we got was so much better than I could've hoped for.

I am not in shippy-mode atm but we'll see what the movie brings, either way them being friends? So on board with that. Oh no I get you, I'm more of a casual fan myself but I don't get uber-hyped about Star Wars stuff. Nah man the trailer for TFA was really good, gave very little away and was basically a mini re-introduction to the universe, I was legit tearing up a bit at the music because memories~

There will be TV spots most likely but like with AoU I am going to avoid as much of those as I can, didn't with TDW and it spoiled the experience a bit for me if I'm being honest.

I low-key dug Steve/Bucky in the first movie(Bucky 'dying' and Steve being catapulted into the modern day left me at a loss as to what to do with that in fanon though so I never bothered looking for fic), I loved Steve though so I was happy to see what they'd do with him in his second movie and I really liked it and I was curious to see how the MCU would do the Winter Solider and well, it was great. And ofc the Steve/Bucky feels hit me full force in the face and I've been crying ever since.

TWS really was great, wasn't it? While Cap 1 remains my all-time favorite, Cap 2 is probably the objectively superior movie.

And as a Metal Gear fan, it's kind of fun noticing the parallels between the two ;)

I feel like I'm in the small minority that actually really enjoyed Cap 1, for me it set Steve up wonderfully and while there are definitely some missed opportunities in the movie(like making the Howling Commandos more than a 30 second montage) I liked how the movie went overall.

Cap 2 was imo a very worthy successor but it's also a different genre as Cap 1 was more a period piece, but they transitioned nicely into the more spy/thriller genre for Cap 2.

I've never played Metal Gear so I will take your word for it. :)
