Robert Plant is blond though. It's the b&w picture that makes it look weird. But LotR elf... yeah I don't see it, cause no LoTR elves have curly hair like that. Maybe they meant something else by putting Glorfindel's name up there?

Ugh, I don't get why people think a picture with one word on it is going to get a message across

There are some Tumblr headcanons about Glorfindel's hair being really big and possibly curly and really unmanageable. But I don't see that in canon. All I see in canon is that his looks and skills are both noticeable, even for an elf, and I don't really think this guy (or much of anyone) could pull that off.

No Elf would have unmanagable hair. Especially a Ñoldor who grew up in Valinor.

I agree with that completely. I think that is mostly crack. Silm crack seems to be a thing all its own. It doesn't fit with actual canon, though.

I don't think a bit of curl or wave in Elven hair is out of the question entirely, but it would be closer to how Galadriel's hair was done in the movies.

But not the curl in that picture, that seems more Hobbitish to me.

Do any magical creatures (aside from possibly hobbits) have curly hair in Tolkien's menagerie?

I'm about to read the hobbit (already did LotR, gonna check out Silmarillion)...

The only race in the legendarium that has definitively been stated as having curly hair are hobbits. Mention has been made of various Elves having straight hair but I don't think it has ever been stated as a universal thing. Curly hair is never mentioned in relation to Elves, but it was also not ruled out.

The vast majority of our current images of the Tolkeinian races comes from media like the Bakshi cartoons and PJ's movies. Even in Bakshi, the Elves had straight hair - even the creepy imp!Thranduil, for what hair he did have.

My personal liking for Elves being able to have curls is just a personal preference influenced by the picture I made up for my RP character Elennárë, who mind you, is not technically an Elf.
