What was wrong with Mike and the robots?

Felicia Day is going to be the new antagonist. The one who traps them there and forces them to watch bad movies. I don't mind her so much, but I'm annoyed that none of the old cast-members were invited/negotiated back in even for cameos.

Ugh, yeah, this makes me want to see this less.

Day is just a horrible actress. She can be okay in certain roles but I'm tired of her showing up in every geek media in existence. Are there seriously not other actresses with those sort of interests? Is she all we get?

Well, it's a few things. One, the role isn't going to be very demanding. She's playing the evil scientist who traps the host on the Satellite of Love and forces them to watch bad movies, it's not like you need Meryl Streep. Secondly, she's one of the most well known geeky actresses and the people who make TV/movies generally want to go with someone who's got name recognition.

I'm sure that she won't be the ONLY actress with geek cred we ever get, but she'll dominate these types of roles for a while simply because she's riding the momentum of her own fame + the conservatism of people who cast these roles.

I have nothing against her personally. I've never watched anything she's in except BtVS, where she played a minor role in the very last season, so I can't exactly form an opinion on her works either.

But goshdangit, I have yet to see a picture of her where her face didn't annoy me. She, along with Michael Cera and that dude from Glee, is one of the people I think of when I hear the phrase "punchable face".

What's weird is I don't recall ever being annoyed by her face in BtVS, so maybe it's only a "thing" for me in static images. Or maybe I just never noticed 'cause she was a minor character and I never paid much attention to her. IDK.

Nah. The character she played on Supernatural was pretty annoying too. IDK if they 'write' her characters as self insert avatars deliberately, but it sure seems that way, and Wow, does it get old fast.

Felicia Day, unfortunately, is the female Chris Hardwick.

Actually in my mind Chris Hardwick is the male Felicia Day but that doesn't serve as well in making my point in this context

tbh I find Chris Hardwick super annoying, too.

I kind of like Chris Hardwick. But then, I don't actually mind Felicia Day, either.

I'd say Day is slightly worse because Hardwick just kind of randomly blew up and I don't know what his longevity will be.

Day has been getting inserted into shows for YEARS now and we still can't get rid of her shtick.

On the one hand, I love Felicia, and she has worked her ass off for years. It's not like the industry gods alighted on her one day and said "You and you alone are chosen to be successful in geekdom!" But I do wish there was more variety available to fill that space. I bet Yvette Nicole Brown could rock it, for example.

I've never seen anything Felicia Day's been in, so I have no dog in the fight regarding her. But Yvette being on this show would be a blast.

Oh my god, I'm now furious that Yvette isn't in this. I'd have donated to the kickstarter for YNB

I like the Guild, but I'm not a huge fan of hers in general. I think she capitalized upon the 'geek' thing way too much. Despite all that I think she will be ok as a Mad

MTE. I don't like her as an actress either...

I'm not a big Felicia Day fan but I think, in my case, it's honestly kind of jealousy. But then, I also don't do very well with upbeat, gungho type personalities so it may be that her energy level is too different from mine.

Ugh, Felicia Day is going to be in it? Any interest I may have had in watching this reboot has officially gone out the window. After the whole Gamergate bullshit and how she said she's 'scared of gamers' now just makes me hate her with a passion. I used to like her, too.
