You will never see me denying AOU! And I still think the whole, "They were just making her character about babies!!!!" rhetoric is stupid. It is like people purposefully misinterpreted that scene between her and Bruce.

Though, I do think she was a terrible person for forcing Bruce to transform against his will.

OP

I agree. Like, could the scene have been written better? Yeah no duh.
But on the other hand, some of the hardcore aou haters are just so blind to basic logic and reasoning, some of the backflips I've seen them do to make natasha a victim and bruce this evil """abusive""" monster is honestly kinda insulting.

Eh, while it was a dick movie I don't think it made her a terrible person. It was a nesscary evil.

I think that, had the thing with her forcing Bruce to transform against his will been played as the shitty thing and violation it was, it could have been an interesting plot moment. But that would have demanded like, nuance and shit.

I always thought that was the reason he left. Hulk realized they could not trust Natasha and got them out of there.

Yep. That was my read as well.

Really? I hated that she did that, but I thought the movie meant us to be totally fine with what she did.

If it meant for me to think it was cool, it failed. I mean, Bruce's whole thing is having control over himself and he was insistent about not wanting to fight. But she forced him to.

Oh, I totally agree with you. And I usually don't care about Bruce at and love Natasha. It was an awful thing to do, but I don't think the creators actually understood that it was awful. I got the impression we were supposed to think she was doing what was necessary, even though in reality it was awful and there really isn't any way to justify it.

Yeah, I agree. They wanted us to think it was necessary but that doesn't make it any less skeevy.

To be honest, I think it was necessary. But that doesn't mean I don't think that was shitty. And tbh, I think Natasha knew that, too. I think that's why she didn't completely break down when he left. She knew it was wrong, but I think she won't ever apologize for doing it since it was out of necessity.

I got the impression he left because he couldn't trust himself, what with the mess in Wakanda going down and him angsting for the rest of the film over how much of a 'monster' he felt he was. That scene to me where she pushes him felt like it was supposed to be 'cute' which I found damn weird tbh.

It may have been a combination of the two, but she certainly didn't help. I think that had she not done that, he may have stuck around for her. But she betrayed his (and Hulk's) trust.

Hm, I hadn't thought about it that way but even if she hadn't done that I'm not sure he'd have stuck about, I think him leaving was always a given.
