(Anonymous) 2015-12-20 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)Retro games cost just as much, plus we never even had a N64 or Gamecube or the older consoles. I think Playstation was the first "big" console sold in stores over here.

Also PC ports for older PS games, you don't need a crazy computer to run those.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-21 04:13 am (UTC)(link)Anyone who only wants to play the newest games for the newest consoles is always going to have to spend a lot of money. It will be out of the reach of most.
I play a lot of games, but most of them are older ones which only cost me about 2 Euros each. I know I can't play any of the latest AAA games on my current setup, so I just ignore their existence.
Patience, OP. In 5 years time you will be able to play those games you currently crave. Technology will have improved and prices will have come down and those games you wanted will have become retro in their turn.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-21 12:00 am (UTC)(link)A good retro game and the newest ps4 game probably cost the same.
The only cheap games with a decent selection are probably old nintendo DS games or ps2 games.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-21 04:17 am (UTC)(link)The PS2 and DS have amazing libraries. There's a reason they're cheap and still easy to get - they were so good and so they sold a lot. You could spend 10 years and still not have explored all their library.
Good retro games don't have to cost more than a few Euros each, not unless you get into 'collecting' which is another subject entirely.
