(These are YouTubers Rhett and Link for those wondering btw.)
OP
(Anonymous) 2015-12-31 12:18 am (UTC)(link)What happened was, they said one day "We're making an app!"
Then one day they said "Get ready! App coming in 5, 4, 3, 2..."
Then the day of launch arrived and they said "Download on iTunes."
Android users were crushed, and remained so, and have continuously asked since then "When can we play? Can we get some hope? Can you tell us ANYTHING" and they have been 100% ignored while the app continues to be promoted occasionally on the show and frequently on social media.
A major announcement was announced recently, which prompted the secret. And that announcement was ... that you can now earn points in game, to buy trivia packs to add on to the game.
Android users: But when do we get to play?
Rhett and Link: *crickets*

(Anonymous) 2015-12-31 06:50 am (UTC)(link)Rhett's the more jock-ish big blond with a beard. He's almost like if Thor were a middle-class american family man. And Link is the less mainstream, more sarcastically funny guy. So together you have this bromance/brotherhood dynamic of two guys who are really different in a lot of ways, but still besties because they know each other so well.
Plus, while I don't laugh out loud at every episode, nor do I bother to tune in every day or check out their non-GMM stuff, i really enjoy the humor in a lot of the episodes. It's goofy and fun, whereas most of the other comedy I consume tends to be fairly critical or a bit harsher. It's just really refreshing to watch something that's literally light-hearted family fun and that's all. It's like teletubbies for adults, almost.

And I've heard the "wholesome fun" thing before and it's like, I believe that's the intent but the whole thing comes off as just plain cringey.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-01 09:10 am (UTC)(link)If an app is purely for the fans, to reach the most people it should release on Android. If it's for the revenue, which most are, it should come out on iPhone with in app purchases. Unless the app is a mega hit, it will perhaps never make it to Android. Porting iPhone apps to Android is surprisingly expensive. There has to be the predicted revenue stream to make it worthwhile, so a lot don't bother.
