17. I love you. For MONTHS I've tried to figure out what "PB" means, AND NOW I FINALLY KNOW.
20. ...Talk about a height difference.
21. FOR THE RECORD, FRIENDS, I DIDN'T WRITE THIS SECRET!
That being said, I much prefer 'Duck' to 'Ahiru' (even though I use Ahiru to RP, since most of my friends are used to the Japanese name). I don't really lose respect for people who use Ahiru, but it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine...not only is it a fairytale, it appears to be set in Germany. Why should she keep the Japanese name? I understand that people are used to it because of the fansubs, but griping about how ADV translated the name and "Duck doesn't even sound like a real name!" is sort of silly.
Personally, though, that doesn't bug me as much as people who write fanfiction where Duck calls Rue "Rue-chan" or Fakir says "baka" or the like. That REALLY doesn't make sense to me--it's set in Germany, people! GERMANY! And most of the human characters have european names!
I actually will happily use "chan" and such when the show is set in Japan--since they can have useful information about the relationships...and it disappoints me that there isn't a better way to translate them, but it reeeally doesn't make sense to me when the show has German littered all over the place and the town is based on a real German town.
....tl;dr, sorry. XD;; Pet-peeve of mine. I was starting to think I was the only one.
31. I relate to her a little, too. (As pathetic as most of the characters on the show are, most of them are easy to relate to, because everyone has problems or hard times...some more than others, of course.)
41. ...These secrets are making me hate the show.
43. ...What's the problem with that idea? That's actually one of the reasons I like the show. Television's too obsessed with sex today.
52. O_O how? Seems like someone would notice.
60. LULZ! I do it, too!!! In fact, I've taken to walking around on my tippy toes at times just to pretend I'm dancing around on pointe. I even wear ballet flats and tulle skirts and other ballet-related fashion. XD;;;
67. Maybe you could write fanfic like that, only doing it by creating the backstory of a character whose backstory isn't revealed as much in the original canon? I think that'd be incredibly interesting.
72. I don't like the Edgeworth slash, and I still love Phoenix, so that's not quite true. (That being said? I adore Mia.)

I don't get the name debate at all. Neither is right or wrong and anyone who bothers to try to argue that one is "the" name is too elitest for me to bother listening to. >>;
no subject
Although, as I told the other commenter below...I actually almost did use Ente for fanfics/RP/etc. XD It actually would've made more sense for me to use that instead of Ahiru for Poly, since I'm clearly making her German...but oh well, such is life.
no subject
Honestly, people aren't going to pay that close attention to CARE about little details like that. XD; It's really pointless and nit-picky to worry about something so trivial.
no subject
XD; But I care! I'm nit-picky when it comes to my writing! It's not like I'm going to change her name or anything, though, everyone knows her as Ahiru now.
no subject
(Although, honestly? I HAVE been tempted to call her Ente in fanfic before, but then I realized...it's not the original intent. Duck/Ahiru is closer to the original intent.)
I'm not saying you CAN'T call her Ahiru, I just get frustrated when fans say "ADV translated it wrong!" or tell me I'M calling her by the wrong name. That's what I'm complaining about.
no subject
And I didn't think you're telling people what to call her, I just think 'It's set in Germany' is a bad argument against calling her Ahiru.
no subject
At least, I think that's what the argument being made is. :O

no subject
Well, see, it's a good argument for when I write fanfic, since I actually mention other German cities and even use German words in my fanfic. ^^; Using "Ahiru" wouldn't make any sense for them. I'll still read fanfic that uses 'Ahiru', if that's what the author chooses--it just wouldn't work for my writing at all.
no subject
That's what I meant in my first comment. I don't see why Duck is better suited in this case than Ahiru.
no subject
Duck is better suited because I'm writing in English. Ahiru would be better suited if I was writing in Japanese.
EDIT: That's just MY preference and the way *I* write. I think it's fine for other people Ahiru if they'd like.
no subject
That's completely understandable, I just got the impression, that you think Duck is more fitting, since it's set in Germany (from the phrase 'not only is it a fairytale, it appears to be set in Germany. Why should she keep the Japanese name?').
EDIT: That's just MY preference and the way *I* write. I think it's fine for other people Ahiru if they'd like.
I realize that, I'm just being a little nitpicky >.<;;
no subject
It's fine, I'm being nitpicky, too.

Re: 21
As I said, I really don't care what someone uses, I don't get really gripy about it until someone starts having Fakir spouting random Japanese. That's when I get frustrated.
Re: 21
People often become very protective about things they love, and tend to prefer it the way they knew it first, I suppose.
I agree on the random Japanese; it's horrible even in series that do take place in Japan. I don't mind certain untranslatable things, like suffixes, though.
In anime/manga like Tutu that doesn't take place in a Japanese type of culture, I'm still on the fence about the suffixes. I mean, it's how the characters in the anime speak, so it doesn't sound wrong, but is it appropriate to the environment? Usually I say that canon tops everything, but it just doesn't always work (like with wtf romanisations).
Most of the time writers use them wrong anyway, so I prefer without.
Re: 21
With the suffixes, I actually prefer for them to be kept for anime set in Japan.
