Hotch and Prentiss (Criminal Minds), mostly because I never warmed up to Prentiss (and was so happy when she left (mostly) for good). And I just don't think Hotch would go there with a female subordinate--and they had no sexual/romantic chemistry that I could see. This is one that I even see mentioned I nope the hell out of whatever I'm reading.

Morgan/Reid (Criminal Minds). Brotp? Sure. But nothing more; given how much of a slash whore I am, it surprises me that I really can't picture Morgan being with another man, especially Reid.

Tiva (NCIS). While they did flirt to beat the band, and I enjoyed Ziva's character for the most part, she was always so fucking nasty to Tony--whether he deserved it or not (about a 50/50 split there). Other than for sex, why would Tony want a romantic relationship with her? Just *ew* Which is why I really, really hope they don't write Tony riding off into the sunset with Ziva (or going to look for her to do so) when he leaves at the end of this year.

Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle (CSI Vegas). I know it was canon (and totally fan service imo), which is why I stopped watching the show after the ep where they hooked up, although I fell asleep before they showed that part, thankfully. It was so OOC for Gil--I think he'd've hooked up with Catherine before Sara. It doesn't help that I disliked Sara from day 1--she was whiney, immature and so. fucking. unprofessional. I was happy when I read that they'd broken up on the show....

And while it's not quite a NOTP yet, Fitz/Simmons is teetering on the brink for me. Partly because I adore Fitz/Mac as a ship but mostly because I hate that a man and woman apparently can't have a close friendship without needing to fall in love and/or fuck each other. I'm tired of it, FitzSimmons had a lovely relationship before and now, tbh, I think it's been ruined. *sigh*

Yes to Gil/Sara and also to disliking Sara.

I shipped Hotch/Prentiss for a while. They're my two favorite characters. But at some point I stopped shipping them. Not a NOTP, but I don't see them as romantic at all anymore.

I wouldn't call Tiva a NOTP either, but I really don't like it.

Ah, and see, I love Morgan/Reid, personally. That's one of my top 5 pairings :D. Hotch/Reid was a slash pairing I could never warm to for the longest time-I have a hard time shipping Hotch with a lot of the team in general, because there's such a boss/employee difference, and he acts so paternal towards most of the younger team members that it's hard for me to see their interactions in any way other than familial.

But now there's an author who's written a bit of Hotch/Reid that I've been enjoying, so I've changed my opinion on it a little bit. I don't think it'll ever be a top favorite pairing for me, but if written well I can enjoy it better now than I used to.

I personally can see Hotch and Emily together, because they're closer in age and I think they click really well in a lot of ways, and if he were to cross that line with any team member, I feel it would be her-she's got that rebellious streak in her that could loosen him up a bit :p. And my favorite slash pairing for Hotch is actually him and Rossi, so there's that, too. But of course, to each their own and all that good stuff :).

If I had a definite NOTP for "Criminal Minds", it would be shipping Gideon with anyone (save for maybe Rossi, in their younger days) or shipping Strauss with anyone who wasn't Rossi. Just can't see it, just too weird depending on the pairing.

As for any of the other shows I like, I think about the only thing that would be an absolute NOTP for me would be any incestuous pairings. So no Abbie/Jenny from "Sleepy Hollow", no Frasier/Niles from "Frasier", and the relationship between Norma and Norman Bates on "Bates Motel" is meant to be fucked up beyond all reason...and that's why I don't ship it, fascinating though their interactions are :p.

Think that's about it, though, really off the top of my head.

Aaaand Hotch/Reid is my OTP--in fact one of my top, true OTPs in that I really don't enjoy them paired with anyone else. But as you say, to each their own. :)

And yes to not pairing Gideon with anyone, though early on I did write a threesome Hotch/Reid/Gideon. I also wrote a short Gideon/JJ fic (my brain is a scary place) and Gideon/Rossi, but they were a bit younger--around the time Hotch would've been hired.

Honestly the only pairings I like for Prentiss are her/JJ or Prentiss/Rossi. I don't read those but I can get behind them.

It's a very popular pairing, and now that I've dipped my toe into it a bit more I can see why :)! I don't know if you've read any stuff by an author named DeejayMil thus far-she's on both AO3 and FF.net-but if you like Hotch/Reid there's a few stories by her that you may want to check out.

Gideon/JJ? Wow. Yeah. That...would be interesting, LOL. There was that episode from early last year that had flashbacks to Gideon and Rossi's very early days in the BAU, and I liked the possibilities those flashbacks brought in terms of shipping for those two :).

I'm cool with Prentiss/JJ and Prentiss/Rossi, too. I can especially easily see her and JJ together-there's a LOT of history between them that could make for good shipping fodder.

Totally agree with Gil/Sara. I actually did keep watching after they got together and I found that Sara improved so much when she was without Gil and after their breakup/divorce. But whenever something about Gil returned (especially regarding Lady Heather), she turned back into this unprofessional, insecure, judgmental character who wasn't interesting to watch. I didn't feel that it made any sense for Gil to be with her (Lady Heather felt more realistic if anyone was going to catch him, though I shipped Gil/Greg hard). She was too judgmental, and he was so open-minded.

I was so frustrated by the series finale and how it walked back the divorce - all the while showcasing WHY they are so terrible together. Sara again loses all sense of professionalism, and she's trying for the CSI Supervisor job, which just puts an exclamation point on this. Also, they can't communicate at all the entire episode. It was just so bad, and left a really bad taste in my mouth after they'd done a pretty good job of building the series back up with the new characters and mostly rehabilitating Sara's character.

Tiva became an NOTP for me when it ended up messing with the writing of the episodes and characters. Tony had some good character growth, but that was thrown out the window whenever Tiva needed it. Storylines would come to a screeching halt for the two of them to have the same conversation over and over. It became clear that their relationship was all about the will-they/won't-they where the show itself wouldn't commit to them, and it was frustrating to watch. I could SEE the behind-the-scenes calculations in every interaction, taking me right out of the episodes. I've been so happy with Tony since Ziva left. It's sad because I could've taken or left Tiva initially but they really executed it terribly.

Criminal Minds is a weird one for me in that I adore all the characters and I'm pretty open to any combination but I really don't have any OTPs. Hotch is my favorite and I'd ship him with anyone but no one really sticks out as THE ONE for him. Same with Reid. Something about him makes him likeable but not shippable for me. Lately, I've kind of liked Hotch/Rossi and Hotch/Morgan pings for me occasionally but nothing that's an OTP for me. I don't think I have any NOTPs either, though I'm not a huge fan of Prentiss either and I was surprised how big the Hotch/Prentiss ship was. I actually shipped her with that guy in the crossover episode (she's had a few one-off characters that I liked her with). It's weird for me because I love the characters and show so much but I never go looking for fic because nothing really grabs me.

I really turned my back on CSI when they killed Warrick off, I know it was mostly cus of the actor, but couldn't he have just gone and worked elsewhere? LA, the arctic, Europe??? And I'm a Gil/Warrick shipper, so, yeah. Basically CSI ended for me just before Gil and Sara hooked up in canon. That being said, I could've handled Gil/Lady Heather too.

I'd drifted away from NCIS for a few years and then just before Cote left, I got back into it and played catch up. I didn't notice a lot of what you mentioned but I was also marathoning them (and I have a habit of ffwding through parts). Yeah, I do think Tony's better w/out Ziva--also I do like his interactions with Bishop--so nice to not have everything be flirting. Here's hoping that when he leaves, it's to take charge of his own team.

+1 on Gil and Sara. I thought Sara and Greg would've been much better together and had a lot more chemistry.

+100 to Grissom/Sara and that Grissom/Catherine was a better pairing.

I am almost finished with S11 after doing a "watch every ep thing from the beginning" on Netflix, and I agree. I actually grew to dislike Tony quite a bit by season 8 or 9 -- his behavior felt borderline stalkery to me -- and then it seemed at least one guest character in almost every ep started hawking Tiva to the point where by the time Eli died I was sick of it.

I know I'm in the minority here but I would never ship Grissom and Catherine, to me they're more like brother and sister. (I did write crossover slashing Catherine with House!)

I mean SHIPPING Catherine with House, doh!
