Fitz/Simmons, I HATE IT with a burning passion for too many reasons. Fitz/Simmons is like a huge pile of Nopes, there are too many things wrong with it.

Any siip involving Tony Stark that isn't Pepper Potts.

Honestly because I think Tony is a bit of an asshole, and Pepper seems to be able to temper that canonically at least, but I pretty much hate him paired with any character I like (which is really most of the other MCU cast, pretty much).

Rey/anyone, I want her to be the protagonist with strong friendship bonds with Finn, Poe and everyone else but not get involved with romance at all. That includes Rey/Jessika that is getting quite a bit of steam in my corner of the TFA fandom. It's cute, but it feels very "pair the spare". At this point if I had to pick a ship for Rey at gunpoint I'd go with Reylo, in a very dark, twisted, the-appeal-of-the-dark-side-fucks-up-Rey's-emotions kind of way.

Anna/Bates- BORING, so boring, and while Anna's cool, I hate Bates.

Pretty much anything parent child. In my current fandom, my biggest no is Mairon/Aule which thankfully I've only seen a couple times.

Another NOTP is Loki/Thor, mostly because so many people pretend it isn't really incest and that really irritates me.

Snape/Harry is a big one. And it so often comes with woobifying Snape and pretending like he didn't bully Harry. Instant backbutton for me.

Giles/Buffy because he's her father figure. Way too parental for me to ship them.

98% of the time, the main pairing of any show or series.

This wouldn't be a problem if it didn't almost always seem like the writers or fans going THEY'RE PRETTY SMASH THEM TOGETHER LIKE BARBIES AND MAKE THEM KISS.

And I'm just like, "but I need context tho..."

Dean/Cas

Does their relationship go ~deeper than friendship? Sure! Does Dean have a massive crush on Cas? I can buy it? Are these two actually In Love and capable of carrying on a mutually beneficial long-term relationship? NO

Cas is a probably asexual functionally genderless wave of celestial intent inhabiting a brain dead man's body and Dean is EITHER a very angry homophobic straight man OR a very angry closeted bisexual. They aren't going to rent a condo in Portland and live happily ever after having angsty hijinks.

[NB: this reasoning is not to imply that asexual genderless people can't be in excellent mutually beneficial relationships if they so choose; no further comment]

I usually dislike shipping a married character with someone else in general, but I really don't like Vimes/Vetinari. I do understand the ship and I definitely don't mind the Vimes/Vetinari/Sybil ship (well I do have one tiny objection to it that makes me not actively ship it, but it's trivial), but I just hate that most V/V fanworks have Vimes cheating on Sybil. That's just awful.

Seeing the above comment about not wanting to ship Tony with anyone except Pepper because she brings out the good in him makes me think that might have something to do with it too. Vimes tries really hard to control his temper all the time and Vetinari's always winding him up. I just feel like it's a bit unfair to both of them.

I really hated Sam/Gabriel in the Supernatural fandom too. I probably wouldn't mind it so much if the fandom would acknowledge how screwed up it is more, but it's usually portrayed as a pair-the-spares best-buds kind of thing. Gabriel seriously traumatised Sam. I have a really hard time imagining them as a fluffy, happy couple.

(i don't even ship sawnqueen, there's just literally nothing likable about robin hood. he was going to cheat on his wife with the woman who tried to kill her. they're only together because tinker bell's prediction about a tattoo meaning it's true love. gag. and hook and emma just make me roll my eyes all the time.)

Steven Universe: Greg/Amethyst. For a bit of context, there was an episode where Amethyst took the form of Greg's dead lover during an argument. The way I interpreted her dialogue was that she used that form before and he didn't object to it at the time. That calls up all sorts of ugly questions about how they coped with the death, especially given how childlike Amethyst was at that time.

My Little Pony: Twilight/Spike. Twilight is like Spike's sister combined with his mother. So awkward.

Hotch and Prentiss (Criminal Minds), mostly because I never warmed up to Prentiss (and was so happy when she left (mostly) for good). And I just don't think Hotch would go there with a female subordinate--and they had no sexual/romantic chemistry that I could see. This is one that I even see mentioned I nope the hell out of whatever I'm reading.

Morgan/Reid (Criminal Minds). Brotp? Sure. But nothing more; given how much of a slash whore I am, it surprises me that I really can't picture Morgan being with another man, especially Reid.

Tiva (NCIS). While they did flirt to beat the band, and I enjoyed Ziva's character for the most part, she was always so fucking nasty to Tony--whether he deserved it or not (about a 50/50 split there). Other than for sex, why would Tony want a romantic relationship with her? Just *ew* Which is why I really, really hope they don't write Tony riding off into the sunset with Ziva (or going to look for her to do so) when he leaves at the end of this year.

Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle (CSI Vegas). I know it was canon (and totally fan service imo), which is why I stopped watching the show after the ep where they hooked up, although I fell asleep before they showed that part, thankfully. It was so OOC for Gil--I think he'd've hooked up with Catherine before Sara. It doesn't help that I disliked Sara from day 1--she was whiney, immature and so. fucking. unprofessional. I was happy when I read that they'd broken up on the show....

And while it's not quite a NOTP yet, Fitz/Simmons is teetering on the brink for me. Partly because I adore Fitz/Mac as a ship but mostly because I hate that a man and woman apparently can't have a close friendship without needing to fall in love and/or fuck each other. I'm tired of it, FitzSimmons had a lovely relationship before and now, tbh, I think it's been ruined. *sigh*

My biggest NOTP for years was Roy/Ed from FMA. The combination of the power dynamics, the implied blackmail, the age difference, the fact that Roy was Ed's CO, and the way that Ed (especially in the 2003 anime, which was most of the fics I read in those days) did not really trust Roy when push came to shove - all of that spelled a big NOPE to me.

Nowadays I'm not invested enough in anything to have a real NOTP, I think.

On Haikyuu!!: Kuroo/Tsukishima, Yamaguchi/Yachi. The first I generally don't like, both of them break up my OTPs.

Star Wars: Kylo Ren/Rey. Most probably incest, hate the dynamics. Really hate it. Not a fan of the Rey/Finn/Poe OT3 so many people love- mostly because Poe and Rey haven't even really met.

Dishonored: Because I can see it looming on the horizon as soon as Dishonored 2 comes along: The Outsider/Emily. I know she's all grown up by then but it still squicks me.

Anyone/Darcy Lewis. I really can't stand that character.

Any Female Lavellan/Solas. Fans of that pairings are often so incredibly obnoxious and entitled, they made me hate the pairing instead of being indifferent about it.

Any character/OC. (Or even worse, /Reader. But I guess that's more of a genre)

There are probably more, but these are the ones that I dislike the most atm.

Pearl/Amethyst, because their relationship reads so sisterly to me rather than romantic. A meaner reason is that I'm pretty sure its popularity as a ship is the reason Opal is one of the most popular fusions even though she's done nothing. I want less fanart of Opal and more of the interesting fusions, please.

I can't say I really have any true notps. There are some ships where I don't like the way they are typically written, but I've not got any pairs I'm a definite no on. I remember back in the day I was pretty anti- Harry/Ginny, especially after Harry's chest monster, but I'm okay with them now. In fact, now I'm more pro a positive Harry/Ginny relationship that doesn't end in a terrible divorce where Ginny is mean to Harry for stupid reasons just for the sake of another ship. Let them end their marriage amicably in fic, please.

Um, I'm my current fandom I'm really not into Bray Wyatt/anyone else but Luke Harper, which is weird because I'm usually shipping everyone with everyone. But I dunno. I can ship Luke with other people, but Luke's so in love with Bray I don't wanna break his poor heart by shipping Bray with anyone else, I guess.

Jean/Scott and Jean/Logan from the X-Men comics, I used to like them but over the years that like has turned into hate and now I want her as far away as possible from either of those idiots. RUN JEAN, BE FREE.

Jean/Marco from Attack of Titan

I used to be indifferent toward it, but now I'm just sick of it. Marco wasn't even in the manga that long, and I find the fandom's treatment of it so boring. I can only take so much fanart of Jean crying over Marco's goddamn corpse. And now that the manga has confirmed...things that everyone pretty much every knew from the get-go, the fandom is back to crying over Marco all over again.

I think part of it is also bitterness over the fact that I'm a major Jean/Armin shipper, and that pairing is largely ignored. It has so much more canon potential. (I mean, if you look up Jean/Marco fic on AO3 it's like 95% AUs lol). Also, their dynamic is way more interesting, imo. It definitely proves that the Japanese fandom has better taste in a way since Jean/Armin seems to be more popular than in the West.

Turin/Beleg - Turin is such an ass. Cursed or not, he should still be able to learn from his mistakes but he never does. I hate how many people suffer because of him, and it drives me crazy that I can't find good Beleg fic without him.

Fingon/Maedhros - Mostly a reaction to how huge it is and that I have other OTPs for these two. I'd like to see stories about Fingon that don't have anything to do with Maedhros and vice versa.

Kili/Thranduil - I am fine shipping dwarf/elf, even Thranduil/dwarf but I can't stand Kili or his actor. The popularity of this pairing boggles my mind. The prompts and fics for them are so OOC and filled with the worst cliches and laziest writing.

Melkor/Sauron - I know some people like "complicated" assholes or whatever but they are unredeemable and evil. I really dislike all the headcanon surrounding these two and how woobified they often are. Even when they're not, I don't give a fuck about the evil assholes who cause so much destruction and pain being in love with each other. I don't think it fits their characterization either. They're both too selfish to love anyone but themselves.
