Would you ever consider plastic surgery?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-13 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Why yes/no?

If yes: what and why?

Ehhhh... maybe? When the time comes a face lift would probably increase my job prospects.

Sure. If I ever lose enough weight, I might have some reconstructions. I'm not ruling out stuff on my face if I age badly. I already had an ear pinned back and my nose fixed.

If breast reduction counts, then yes. That. Because no one should have a triple-anything cup size.

I mean, unless they want to. I don't. :|

If it was ever 100% safe and way more reasonably priced than it is now (presuming nose surgery for deviated septums is not covered by my insurance) I might. It would be nice to not be a mouth breather. XD

Getting your septum fixed won't actually alter how your nose looks, anon! Unless you mean you want to get your septum fixed and have a rhinoplasty at the same time.

And if it's causing you legit health issues (like making it hard to breathe), insurance will cover it.

The only way I could ever see myself considering/doing such a thing is if I got in some sort of absolutely godawful accident and reconstructive surgery was necessary to help reset/rebuild some part of my face or body.

Otherwise, absolutely not. I just have no desire to mess with my body in that way. I'm fine with it as it is. And I'm not bugged about getting older, so I have no interest in getting plastic surgery as a means to "stay young", either.

If other people want to do that stuff to their bodies, though, that's their choice.

I would really like a little rhinoplasty, or something to make my boobs look nicer (not bigger, just less saggy and uneven, maybe even a little bit of cleavage for good measure.)

if i was in an accident and became disfigured, yes
short of that, no. i like the way i look.

Same here. I've got a couple of moles on my face that I would probably get removed if there was a way to do it without leaving scars, but since there isn't, I'm not all that bothered by them.

Maybe.

I'm not against the idea, but I can't think of any features I would really like to change right now.

Not unless I was horribly disfigured in an accident or something. My body is fine as it is now.

Re: Would you ever consider plastic surgery?

No. Even though there are certainly things I would like to improve about my body. It just seems like the kind of thing that people like me don't do.

diet_poison put it well- not unless something traumatic had happened to my face/body. Because what I got now is just fine.

If it were offered to me, I would do super noninvasive treatments like microdermabrasion or electrolysis. But nothing surgical or injected.

Hell yes, if I had the extra cash.

I'd get chin surgery. I have a wide neck, a very wide+round face and a weak chin. My features are nice but I feel like a jack-o-lantern sometimes with how blobby my jawline is. I'd get an implant and a neck lift so my jaw and chin had more definition.

Re: Would you ever consider plastic surgery?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-13 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'd do chemical peels for sure. Maybe a neck lift if my neck did that thing where it's like a triangle of skin from your chin to the base of your neck (I had a double chin and I've lost weight so I'm concerned about that). I'm not crazy about plastic surgery in a general sense because it seems like people come out of it looking like someone else.

Re: Would you ever consider plastic surgery?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-13 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
I had technically "cosmetic" surgery to fix an issue with the bone structure of my jaw 7 years ago. It wasn't strictly cosmetic--I didn't much mind how I looked (though I do like how I look now better)--as it was causing some pain and issues with breathing, but...basically, yes. People own their bodies. If they're truly making choices that they like and feel good about, it's no different than cutting your hair or piercing your ear.

Re: Would you ever consider plastic surgery?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-13 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
No. I'm far from perfect and my SO's are the same, but I'm the cliche-fed sort that thinks the flaws are quite charming.

My lower body is riddled with a couple pretty eyebrow-raising scars though, so I don't go to public beaches in a bikini or anything.

Re: Would you ever consider plastic surgery?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-13 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, for cosmetic reasons. I have been told I'm unattractive and it hurts my social life/finances (can't get hired).

Re: Would you ever consider plastic surgery?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-13 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
No. Any surgery has risks and I wouldn't want to take those risks for something so trivial. Besides, I think I look pretty okay as it is.

Yes, if there were some way to fix the fact that my chin looks like it's part of my neck.
