As someone who's shipped things like lapis/jasper, I've seen and experienced way way worse.

It's a lazy dumb fic that's like 100 words long with almost no correct grammar or spelling.
There's a lot of things to get mad and offended over in fandom, but imo this isn't one of them.

I'm kind of curious how bad the anti-Lapis/Jasper crowd gets. I've seen how horrendously awful people get about Pearl/Mayor Dewey, and that's not even in the same ballpark as what Lapis and Jasper have done to each other.

Im the same anon, most of the haters seem to think liking the pairing is "abusive" and will sometimes be pissy towards you about it. But then they'll turn around and claim it's only okay for abuse victims to like the ship "as long as they use it to cope" or whatever despite the fact that most of these people spewing this bullshit aren't abuse victims themselves and have no idea what they're blathering about.
And I've also seen people claim that even if you are an abuse victim, you still apparently support abuse by shipping two fucking fictional characters together, and therefore, you're a bad person.

I don't think it's as bad as it use to be half a year or so ago, but it's still fucked up how some parts of the SU fandoms treats abuse victims.
I'm not even gonna go into detail about how the same people usually think Pearl is abusive and evil as well.

Sex. Gems don't have SEXES. They have genders, their genders are female.

And even if they aren't, there are plenty of agender people who identify as lesbian or gay or bi. And even if that's not enough, they'd be agender who's exclusively attracted to other agender people which kind of seems like the uber form of homo to me.
