Is it outright racism? Or just the subtle "not two pretty white people" thing? I mean, Finn/Poe is pretty common, right? So I'd think it wasn't that...

One thing I love about Rey/Finn is the racial difference. Racial issues have never in the past been super personal to me, since I'm white, but I'm currently dating a black man so interracial relationships as an ~issue~ are definitely more personal to me than they were before, and I would hope they'd be more-or-less normalized by now...right? Well to all the people I interact with IRL it's not a big deal at all, but it seems there are people who aren't over this yet. Ugh.

I agree with you, but I think that people just like dark ships a whole lot, whether they are delusional or not. Race to me has nothing to do with it.

oh, well yeah, I think that's the appeal for Reylo. That and potential incest/cousincest. I was responding to an anon who thought Rey/Finn's lack of popularity had to do with Finn's race, though.
