I'm confused. I'm not really in the fandom per se, but I know a lot of fans and F!S is seriously the only place I've ever heard of people thinking Rey has to be a lesbian.

(To be clear, I'm not saying FS says she has to be, I'm saying I've seen two secrets about that in a row here. And even the other secrets got a lot of "WTF?" comments... maybe it's just an Ao3 thing?)

It's somewhat of a tumblr thing too. Some people do the Finn/Poe/Rey ot3 thing, but others are dead-set with Jessika Pava who is from the novels or something? Idk.

I actually am a lesbian, but I find this whole thing very bizarre. I'm pretty uninterested in headcanoning a female character as a lesbian if she doesn't really have any interesting interactions with other women in canon, tbh.

This is the thing about it I REALLY don't get. There aren't even any other women in the movie! (Except very minor characters, and Leia who is much older and technically taken so that's unlikely.)

I've only seen reactions to this apparent forced headcanon but no actual material. Maybe one joke comic about her realising she's gay but I doubt that's what ppl are getting at. Probably something you need to check the tags regularity to see and likely to be easily ignored trolls? Idk.
