He took a lightsaber cut in the back to save her, I'd be starry-eyed too.

Not really. They both face Kylo and Finn gets cut down and Rey is of course worried about him. Later she says her farewells while he is unconscious and she goes to find Luke. It didn't feel particularly romantic.
