Re: Oscar Nominations

(Anonymous) 2016-01-15 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Imma say-

crapshoot for best film
actor - Eddie Redmayne
actress - Saoirse Ronan
s. actor - Christian Bale
s. actress - Rooney Mara

costume - Sandy Powell

Honestly, I think they choose the ingenue when it comes to actresses and The Danish Girl is very topical.

Actor: Redmayne won last year, and while some actors have repeated two in a row, I'm thinking he won't. I expect it to be Leonardo DiCaprio this year.

Actress: I'm thinking either Saoirse Ronan or Charlotte Rampling.

Supporting Actor: I have a soft spot for Ruffalo, but I'm betting Stallone, based on the nostalgia factor. He's older, won't be around forever, and doesn't usually have Oscar-worthy roles, so I think they'll give it to him as it's their one chance to do so.

Supporting Actress: Alicia Vikander, just because.

As for costume, I see Sandy Powell has double the odds, LOL!

Best Director: I hope George Miller takes it.
