Re: Complaining thread!
Also got denied an appointment with a specialist at the hospital because my GP wrote the world's worst referral letter. I know she was rushed, but I'm still annoyed and now I have to go back to her and ask her to take more time and do it properly. Some parts of it aren't even words, just keysmash.
I would probably be less cranky if my legs were working. I've popped both knees and both hips multiple times this week and it's really hard to keep them steady enough to walk on, even using the stability cane and the wall for balance. I can't afford custom braces right now. I just need everything to cooperate until I figure out my medical budget under the 2016 health plan.

That's so frustrating! And I guess in this situation you couldn't just call the office, tell them the situation and see if she would fax another? (They SHOULD do that so you don't have to make another trip, but again, I know even if they okay it, it might take a week for them to get around to it unless you call them repeatedly about it.)
I hope you get it figured out! In the meantime I'm sorry, but good luck! I hope you feel better soon.
Re: Complaining thread!
I could call but I have to go in soon anyway because new year, new care plan and I need to make a case for what I need this year. New wheelz is first priority.
They're getting sick of my face in there.
Re: Complaining thread!
My mom needs a walker and that hasn't went anywhere for over a month either. (She's borrowing one from neighbors right now.) First home health sent the paperwork to the wrong place, then when they sent the paperwork to the right place there was no response.
It's kind of disgusting how much trouble people have to go through just to get the service or supplies they need. A nurse told me she'd seen a man wait six months for a new bed.
So I definitely hope you get your wheelchair much faster then that!
I refuse to believe that, though I could believe you are getting sick of their faces. Doctors aren't exactly fun.
Re: Complaining thread!
I hope your mum's (mom's? I can't american) new walker gets sorted out soon! I was able to get my cane in 10 minutes because I live near a home care warehouse and I just went in with cash.
My GP is nice enough, but she constantly has the face of someone who has said yes to too many things. She has students from the uni who come to observe and they're popping in and out and asking dumbass questions all the time.
Re: Complaining thread!
Mum or mom, both work, lol. And yes, we should just go buy her one, it would be easier. I've thought about it, but since she's already borrowed a walker she doesn't want us to pay for it when the insurance owes her one. If it takes much longer we'll do it anyway.

See, I don't like that kind of thing. I know that students need experience and I'm sure it helps a lot, but if I'm seeing a doctor I at least like the illusion of privacy, and I want to get in and out. Maybe I'm just impatient and paranoid.
Re: Complaining thread!
Whenever I type 'mom' I say it in a really exaggerated accent in my head. MAAWWM.
I hope she gets her walker soon. Insurance is probably delaying in the hope that she will just get fed up and go buy one herself.
I feel like in this amount of time we could have designed and built our own mobility aids.
