Re: Non-fandom secrets

All my life, I've been completely disinterested in the beauty industry and in fashion. I told myself I had better things to offer to the world than my looks. Then I graduated from grad school and found I couldn't find a job in my country's fucked up economy. At the same time, I also started doubting my other abilities for other reasons.

Lately I've been getting into fashion after a lifetime of dressing like a mess, and I've been getting lots of compliments. But what people don't get is that I'm only becoming more careful about how I look because I'm no long so sure I have anything else to offer ooooops.

Why don't you set an example for AYRT by getting your ass off fandom secrets and doing something more productive than leaving hateful ugly comments to people?

sorry, that must feel weird :(

If it helps, maybe decide on some weirder, unconventional fashion aspects that nevertheless suit you? you could use it as an armor of self-expression instead of an "offer".

expressing your taste is also a way to show confidence. it's hit or miss, but many people like others better for it.

as long as you look like you care about your appearance it you will most likely still get benefits from this and improve your employment chances without feeling like you're selling out.

I think that's a normal way to feel. When you lose confidence in certain things to rely on getting it from somewhere else. I'm sure you have plenty to offer even if you're not at where you want to be right now.

If it helps, I think it's a good thing to present yourself really well outwardly to boost your confidence and professionalism. Maybe you can use the momentum from this in a really productive way!

Best of luck.

If it helps... well, the fashion world and fashion history is actually really interesting to learn about. So there's that. AND your success at dressing well might increase your chances of getting a job & performing in interviews!
