(Anonymous) 2016-01-20 01:25 am (UTC)(link)If you're talking about actual power dynamics within a m/m couple, you'll use words like "service top" or "submissive top" for a guy who likes to top in large part because that's what brings his partner (the bottom) pleasure. And bottoms who take control and order around their tops are called "power bottoms" or "dominant bottoms". However, lots of people don't really have power dynamics that are noticeable at all in the bedroom and it would just be broken down into who enjoys getting fucked, doing the fucking, or both.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-20 05:45 am (UTC)(link)While I am weeping he's correct :P, since holy hell, gay dating scene is rid with these minefields. Everyone has their own preferences, same as in fiction and writing couples ie. one option can prevail. However, the amount of blokes wanting macho dudes because random sexism (not preference for such, just sexism - there is a difference where one says 'I like stereotypically masculine acting and looking people' and 'ALL FAGGY FAGS ARE WROOOONG, I WANT A REAL MAN!'.
As far as fantasies go - I am surprised that it's never the other way around - the older, taller, more dominative in real life bloke is not submissive in bed. But whelp.
And this has been written by a dude who loves power play and bondage same as his boyfriend but we switch. Of course, he's the tall, dainty and slim one with long hair and happy-go-lucky character while I am a raging, ginger midget - just to fill the stereotypes quota.
