Two boys or two girls? They're 'too young to understand that/feel that way/it's sick/they're confused/some adult is pushing that on them'.
Bleh, the hypocrisy.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-21 01:57 am (UTC)(link)A few years ago a family friend's 8 year old son had a crush on a boy he went to school with and there were a bunch of supposedly "open minded liberal" relatives on Facebook having a meltdown about how the parents had "planted the idea in his head" because he was "too young" and it was so digusting how they were "sexualizing" him. But his 6 year old sister having a crush on a boy in her class was perfectly fine and TOTALLY NOT AT ALL THE SAME THING.

I also like stuff around the teens where people are first getting into sex, but don't really know how to go about it.
I am very, very careful that those two things don't get mixed up.
off topic but
(Anonymous) 2016-01-21 12:11 am (UTC)(link)I would especially love to see, say more slash where neither the top nor bottom know very well what they're doing.
Clumsy awkward "wtf are we even doing" sex for the win

(Anonymous) 2016-01-21 12:40 am (UTC)(link)I agree so much with this you have no idea. I'm one of the Haikyuu!! anons (seems like there's around like four or five of us, hah, I'll narrow it down by saying I'm one of the couple of anons who isn't into Kuroo/Tsukishima at all) and honestly this is one of my biggest pet peeves in that fandom, because they're the perfect age for first loves and first times, and yet people insist on writing them like they're sex professionals or something.
No! No, stop it! Give me a first time fic where Asahi's dick is just too big for Noya to take because Nishinoya hasn't experimented with anything more than a finger or two inside himself before. (Bonus points if they then decide that Noya topping Asahi for their first time is much more manageable.) Give me blowjob fic where Oikawa is gloating that he's got skills and then he's coughing and spluttering because Iwaizumi's dick is a lot different than trying to deep-throat a banana (which, he wasn't all that great at either). Give me fic where Hinata and Kageyama try frottage and Hinata tries sucking a hickey on Kageyama's collarbone and whoops Kageyama came after a couple of strokes.
Just give me all the fic where people's first times aren't these magical, seamless porno shoots. Part of my enjoyment of actual sex is the minutiae, the realness, the fact that sex isn't perfect. I don't want my sex to be perfect, and I don't want my fic sex to be perfect either, because it feels less real that way and I find myself not getting into it as much.

Re: off topic but
(Anonymous) 2016-01-21 09:37 am (UTC)(link)I've been lucky to run into a few well-written ones and they were awesome. Definitely more engaging than the ones where everyone is inexplicably good at sex because they saw a porno once (or just instinctually know what to do) or the ones that give one of the participants (usually the top) a long sexual history (at the age of 15-16).

(Anonymous) 2016-01-21 11:25 am (UTC)(link)Like I come from a big family, but we kiss each other on the mouth all the time. It's closed mouth, of course. Closer to a peck. But I'm 37, and my 33-year-old brother will still lay a smacker on me every once in a while. Same with my Mom.
So seeing two kids kiss each other, to me, is just a kind of sweet greeting that says "I love you" in very innocent terms. Like they love their favorite teddy bear or ice cream.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-21 12:44 am (UTC)(link)And kid romances can be adorable, super innocent stories about kids falling for each other can definitely get an "Aww" out of me.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-21 03:39 am (UTC)(link)Me neither. To me it's more about an emotional relationship between characters and doesn't necessarily have to include sex. I often feel like I'm doing it wrong, though.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-21 12:51 am (UTC)(link)I do ship kid characters. Not in sexual way, just in that first love/crush sort of way. Because it's cute. No regrets.
