I do not get the over-the-top hatred Lena Dunham's body inspires. I know she's said and done some ~problematic~ things, but in 90% of posts that slag off on her, the focus is on her looks.

It's especially funny/frustrating on Tumblr, where every other day I see a new post about accepting all sizes and all women being beautiful and what have you, and then those same people will talk about how they can't stand Dunham's hideous visage.

Also, I really hope you're not a member of the "protect Adam Driver at all costs" squad, because if you're condemning the vitrol his face inspires while expressing these feelings for Lena Dunham, I can only assume you're dealing with some powerful internalized misogyny.

Yes. Which is why I mentioned the ~problematic~ aspect. If OP had been going on about how that makes her a terrible person, I wouldn't have minded.

(the ~~ is mostly because I only remembered the molestation, and I know there have been other controversies as well, some more damning than others)

I don't get it either. It's not even a good argument for hating Lena Dunham. Her PERSONALITY is annoying. Her looks are pretty normal, in my opinion. I'd probably think she was pretty cute if I didn't think she was awful (I go for her type).

I wasn't sure about the racist rumors surrounding her. Then as I was watching the show Girls, I heard a side character say something like, "Don't even get me started on guys who fuck asian girls."


And I was like, wait what? Made me feel a little uncomfortable, you know being an asian woman and all.
