I'd like to believe most of this is not true, but honestly... I've read blog entries of black people that spend time on asian countries, so I can't help but think there might be some truth to this. :^/

Specifically underperforming dues to racism though? Especially when pretty much everyone (including Disney) knew that selling Star Wars in China was going to be difficult because of the lack of nostalgia?

There's undeniable racism in China and other Asian countries, yes, but it's hard to swallow OP's claims when there's far more reasonable, evidence-based claims for why Star Wars wasn't a smashing success in China.

Specifically, probably not. But there's also evidence that it might have been a factor, given accounts of black people who travel to asia and the poster thing with Disney.

I guess I do prefer thinking OP is oversimplifying this though, rather than think everyone in china has the same backward views.
