I know what you're talking about because one horrible dinner when I was in college some friend of a friend sat at our table in the dining hall and insisted on telling the goddamn joke at GREAT LENGTH despite the palpable lack of amusement from the audience. He insisted it was the funniest joke ever. He was WRONG.
