I find it hard to believe you watched the movie considering you got a pretty big plot event wrong in your secret. *does Leonardo Dicaprio squint at you*

That said, I don't think he deserves to win an Oscar either. Tom Hardy does though, his acting was better and more enjoyable to watch.

OP

(Anonymous) 2016-01-24 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I wasn't talking about in the movie, I'm talking about his "prep work" for the film: http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Leonardo-DiCaprio-Slept-Inside-An-Animal-Carcass-Because-He-Never-Phones-It-89817.html

Admittedly it may not have been a bear, I misspokeon that.

I'm not sure what seems more exhausting--drama if he wins or the LEO NEVER GETS AN OSCAR freak out if he loses...

The 'Leo Never Gets an Oscar' crowd. If he gets one, it will be news for like...2 days before everyone moves on. If he doesn't, we have to through this all again next time he does an Oscar bait movie.

is this the movie where he got raped by a bear?

(because seriously, bears aren't that stupid.)

(Anonymous) 2016-01-24 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaah. This is such a funny question! No one has ever asked this question before. You are so funny!

He did not.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-24 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
He is mauled by a mother bear protecting her cubs. She crushes him, throws him around, and flays the skin and meat off his back, down to bone. IRL the guy, Hugh Glass, had to roll in maggots to keep his back from necrotizing while he crawled for six weeks through the frozen mountains, refusing to die like a pioneer-age John McClane.

No, you got it wrong. He slept with the bear, not in it.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-24 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Only Jared Leto could be so deep method.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-24 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Is this the movie where he gets raped by a bear? I hope that was cg or the Humane Society are not giving it their "no animals harmed" stamp.

Nah, they actually trained an actual bear to rape Leonardo DiCaprio.

Oh my God how many people genuinely believe that bear rape is going to show up in a major dramatic film? Worse still, how many people still think this is funny??

OMG, is the bear-rape movie? I know literally nothing else about this movie other than people keep screaming he should get an Oscar and they included a bear-rape scene, for some strange reason. WHy does he get raped by a bear anyway?

Any movie where a man needs to get raped by a bear for its plot to work ought never be nominated for anything. I think he is sick for even agreeing to it.

Even though I knew what actor and movie this secret is about intellectually, I still spent 30 seconds arguing with myself over whether that was DiCaprio or Iain Glen in the image.

BONUS SECRET: I never found Leonardo DiCaprio that attractive until this moment.

If he wins at this point people will just say it was a pity oscar.

I do wonder though why everyone is acting like this is his last chance ever?? is he retiring or something?

It is funny how everyone on the Internet decided to flip their shit that he didn't have an Oscar yet. There are long lists of talented actors who didn't even get noms. But the actors are just the ones that everyone pays attention to - this article at Pajiba points out there are other people with long no-winning streaks:

They should create a special Oscar category for this: "Best scene involving sleeping in a dead animal (and we mean an actual animal that exists on earth, not a sci-fi animal)". Then Leonard would win and everyone would be happy.

no movie with bear rape should get an oscar really

(Anonymous) 2016-01-25 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah I also hope he doesn't get the oscar this year. Just, I haven't been that impressed with him

(Anonymous) 2016-01-25 10:32 am (UTC)(link)
I don't agree with the idea of "it's someone's turn to win", either. That sort of defeats the whole purpose of awards that are supposedly given on the basis of merit.
