When I said I could never tell what was going to upset her, she WENT OFF on me for being emotionally abusive and manipulative--a claim she backed up with "what I learned in psychology 101."

Oh, FUCK these kinds of people. Yeah, it's great you (in general) learn something in college, but it doesn't make you an expert, and more importantly, it's not fucking ammo to use on people! Especially on the ones you care about. JFC.

These kinds of folks have issues you can't fix. I won't discount their claims that something bad may have happened to them at some point in the past, but they are perpetual, professional victims, even though they in fact are the ones abusing you. If it wasn't your "sugar coating" comment that set her off, trust me, it would have been something else on another day. You are soooooooooo better off without her.
