Uhm, he literally killed Luke's students. He's the lightsaber equivalent of a school shooter.

...haha, oh shit. I never put it together like that before.

Were they in school/educational establishment when he killed them?

It most likely occurred at a Jedi temple. Kylo was also an apprentice to Luke and I'm pretty sure the novelization tells us that he was 15 when he carried out the Jedi massacre.

So he is a religious extremist, not a school shooter.

HMM. It's focused on religion but I think it still qualifies as a school, with masters being teachers and apprentices being students.

But he was attacking them specifically because they did not follow his style of religion (Sith vs Jedi).

I mean, no one calls Anakin a school shooter and he killed a whole "classroom" of them.

So he is a religious fanatic who manifests this using a school shooting. Because as far as I know, the only qualification for a school shooting is a shooting (or in this case, the Jedi equivalent) that occurs in a school. Unless there's more to it! I'm honestly pretty ignorant about this.

Kylo also has intense, intense anger issues. Since I don't know that much about this particular Jedi massacre, idk if that had anything to do with it. Probably not.

But you're right, I've never heard anyone call Anakin a school shooter. I rolled my eyes the first time I saw Kylo called that. :\

I guess I am differentiating between a shooter at a school and school shooter. Just a semantics thing. But a school shooter would be unlikely to attack anywhere else.

I could see Kylo attacking any large group of Jedi that he felt confident in defeating. Because it isn't a school he is attacking, it is a religion he considers to be wrong. If they had been in a Jedi coffee shop, he would be just as likely to kill them whereas a school shooter specifically attacks a school for various reasons.

Yeah, that makes sense! The setting was pretty incidental; he just wanted to kill some Jedi.

Oh my gawd. You're right. I never looked at it like that.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-26 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Oh shit. :/ Now i'm really uncomfortable.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-26 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Actually we don't know that he killed them. It's implied because he has the name "Jedi Killer" but nothing has been confirmed. We just know he was the primary cause of it's downfall.

Nice to see Kylofags grasp at straws and make excuses harder than Lokifags.

Different anon but I don't see any of that in that statement. I see someone who's a stickler for canon, so I can sympathize with that. I'm a stickler for canon even for characters I despise.
