Back in the 90s, there were a few reality TV series based on different eras in history. The first was 1900 House and I think you can find the full series on youtube. Here's the first ep:

oooo I remember the 1900 house! That was a really interesting premise. They aired it in the US on PBS.

I really liked 1900 House.

More recently, there was a British show that aired on PBS that I liked but can't remember the name of where this family has to live through the 70s, 80s, and 90s and every day represented a year (so 30 days to cover three decades). The house was temporarily altered to more closely resemble a house in the 1970s with period-correct appliances and things, and then over the days they were slowly given new technology as it would have been developed. I liked it when they were in the early 90s and the kids wanted cell phones. They were told "People would think you'd mugged a yuppie."
