Do you think amy schumer stole those jokes, or do you think it's just a rumour being spread around by misogynists who don't like a prominent feminist in the media, like with that rape accusation?

I don't think it really matters either way. I'm pretty sure jokes get stolen all the time.

DA but I do think stealing other people's creative content matters. It's like plagiaring a book or tracing over someone else's photo. It's wrong and since it rarely carries legal consequences, it should at least have some form of social backlash.

Generally I do think so. But I don't think jokes are the same. There are often people who come up with the same joke or are inspired by someone else's joke but make something that is their own. I think it is too murky to be able to say that jokes are owned by individual comedians.

Carlos Mencia level of stolen is different though. Not sure about Amy, but he's basically disappeared since that incident.

She probably stole the jokes because people steal jokes all the time.

MTE, but apparently when a woman does it, suddenly it's a super fucking big deal.

It made the news because Schumer is well known, but comedy has other well known joke thieves who are male:

Robin Williams
Denis Leary
Carlos Mencia
Dane Cook

Just to name a few.

Have you never heard of Dane Cook or Carlos Mencia? They have been accused a fuck ton of stealing jokes and it is a big fucking deal.

Just because you only heard about her because your victim complex made you go "THEY ARE PICKING ON A WOMAN" doesn't mean it isn't a big deal.

Google Dane Cook, Carlos Mencia, Bill Hicks (who afaik never stole a joke but did accuse people of theft of same), Dennis Leary (the one Bill Hicks accused), Patton Oswalt.

Uh, the woman who made the accusation has dialed it back and apologized.

So many people have such a hate-on for her that I have a really, really hard time believing it's not the same old song and dance that gets pulled out any time someone dislikes a successful comedian.

I can barely even name a super successful comedian that hasn't been accused of joke stealing at some point in their careers.
