Re: I'm struggling with the refugee vs women situation

my position would be "have the social and state structure - in terms of state resources, in terms of dedicated resources for assimilation, education, and integration, and in terms of law and order and security services - to deal with the influx of refugees" but i understand that having a functioning state is not a particularly popular thing these days

resources for assimilation

So you think OP should go with racism?

assimilation in general is not racist, as long as it doesn't mean elimination; assimilation in terms of specific moral and social values certainly is not. i have no time for bullshit arguments to the contrary, no time at all.

Assimilation is necessary when one group thinks child brides and stoning trans people is okay.

Yep, basically, since there's no way you're going to not be a chode and label it any other way. (Which is shitty, by the way, shaming people for being upset that women are being sexually assaulted by refugees.) If you can't live civilly in a nation that's different than what you're used to, get the fuck out.

That just isn't a realistic position. Thousands of refugees every day is too much to handle.

i know it's not politically possible, but there's nothing logistically impossible about it.
