XBox 360, PS4

I'm a big time newbie gamer. The only games I've played are Portals 1&2, Dishonored, and Bioshock. I loved all of those. I love games with compelling stories and visuals.

Bioshock 2, Deus Ex Human Revolution (and if you have Steam, Deus Ex 1 is over 15 years old and should run fine on your PC.) If you liked Dishonored, you'll probably like the original Thief games, all of which are on Steam or GoG and the first two date back to the 90s. There's a new one, but by all accounts it wasn't that great.

Definitely check out Bayonetta. The visuals alone are worth it, but the gameplay is ridic fun and the characters are all great. The story's a touch thin, but it is compelling for what it is.

I also really highly suggest both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. 3's a bit more story-heavy, NV's a bit more character-heavy, but they're both completely awesome.

You might consider the Mass Effect trilogy as well, if you're into sci-fi!

Have you tried the Uncharted series for the PS4? I would recommmend all three of them, but the second one "Among Thieves" is the best.
