I thought the first part was shaky as hell. Better than the movie in some ways (characterization and acting IC) but worse in ways of continuity. I'm frustrated by how easily Mulder is renouncing his beliefs about aliens and Scully is believing everything. I think that they don't have to go so far in the opposite directions. I also thought that it came off as kind of "political agenda" ish (though I, myself, am the second most liberal of democrats, I HATE media that preaches).

Tonight's episode was better but definitely suffered some rough spots. They keep having the characters assert information without showing them learning the information. Scully seems lifeless to me and Mulder seems like he has a head cold.

Surprisingly solid entry for James Wong, whom I've always held is one of the drier writers. I'm looking forward to the next entry and think it'll get better as they start feeling their feet.
