Kind of related, I dislike the assumption that all nerds like Star Wars/Star Trek. i.e. that NASA post where they're "clearly a bunch of nerds all alone" because they did some Star Wars promos.

Or fanfic, where to show off the "secret" nerdishness of the characters they sit around and watch SW/ST but not the SW sequels because they're True Nerds (tm).

That post (if it's the same one I saw) doesn't say "all alone", and it was also about an astronaut buying NASA merch.
