I have the week off to mourn my nan.

Didn't stop me from sending emails telling delegating to my boss some urgent tasks/FYIs.

:/ Lamesauce. Weeks off shouldn't be filled with emails and crap, especially sad weeks off.

I'm sorry for your loss. Wish you didn't have to worry about work at a time like this, but I'm glad you have other people to share your thoughts and feelings with. It sounds like she lived an interesting life.

Literally the exact same thing I did yesterday, word for word. The "joy" of working in a call centre that does surveys over the phone. Every day is exactly the same as the one before as long as we're still on the same project.

*Finished designing the flyer for an event in March
*Spent a long time looking at options for buying a floor mat for under my office chair
*Spent a long time looking at options for customized date stamps
*Spent a long time managing my font library
*Spent way too long talking about makeup with my student worker
*Successfully avoided working on the withdrawal of hundreds of National Park Service maps from the library catalog, which involves typing up a list of their titles and call numbers, which makes me kinda want to die.

To the tune of chopsticks

Finished an eighteen hour shift at 05:00, came back in for 11:00 and had to speak to someone with a slash wound that meant I could see the white of their skull.

Same as usual. Editing.

If I'm honest, not much. Updating some websites, QC'ing some other things, handing over one or two projects to the production team. Break day after working five 12+ hour days in a row and over the weekend on a pitch. It went well though.

Listened to voicemails, read emails, called people to address things mentioned in voicemails/emails, answered phone calls, talked to the building manager about some maintenance issues, watered plants and did paperwork.

Packed like...300 Accuquilt dies to send to Amazon. They were so heavy!

We had an all hands meeting this morning, which was... OK. Bit dull and while they said all the right things it remains to be seen whether they'll follow through.

Then I mostly screwed around building an example database for a project we're working on. Also got a shawarma for lunch.

Played store with the kiddos to get them to understand that not every bill or item is worth five dollars. I got spat on and kicked by one kid, so I had to put her in the quiet corner and felt like a monster when she started crying. At least I got to hear a fun story from the classroom chatterbox. Her house melted into cheese and she has a polkadot dog that came from an egg that was laid by a zebra elephant.

Started at 5:00 am. Had an inspection at 6:00. Spent the rest of the day planning a pretend presence patrol in an imaginary country and delivering orders, except for a few hours f of rifle drills. Now I'm enjoying my 30 mins of phone time before preparing for my inspection tomorrow.

Signed books in, signed them out. Read aloud to the younger kids. Had a staff meeting after school--where I explained the bingo I'm running for African Heritage Month and we learned about the board's new attendance management program.... All as thrilling as it sounds.

Mostly the stuff I usually do on Wednesdays. It's the least interesting day of the week for me right now (and also the only day I actually work in the building I'm based in, right now).

Dealt with idiots who can't tell the difference between a ham sandwich and a tuna sandwich, as I do every day.

At least the people I work with are cool, or some customer would be walking with a Turkey Tom shoved up their ass right now.

worked my ass off quietly, getting more work when the louder people are not available. At my other job I sat quietly trying to study for my class and failing miserably.

But it actually wasn't too bad of a day, got a lot done surprisingly.
