Same.

Actually, I kind of do think censorship's permissible in that case. Mostly because I think something has to be majorly wrong with you to write that kind of thing.

OP

I don't believe in any sort of censorship because I believe that while fiction can be used for evil, it is not by nature of existing hurting anyone and slippery slopes and yadayadayada. But also because literally every person I've seen admit to liking it was themselves a victim of child sexual abuse and used it to work through their feelings about the abuse and their struggles with their sexual identity. No seriously, every single one, though I'm sure there are others who are different and just like dark fic.

Yes, I agree. But then, in my country this kind of thing is technically illegal. Admittedly, visual pedophilic art is probably a lot more likely to get called to the mat than written pedophilic art. And unless someone is actually distributing said art, I suspect they're pretty unlikely to have the law come down on them for it. Which is fine, IMO; priorities are important, and having a sense of scale is important, etc. etc.

But yeah, technically, the law (in Canada - as well as, I believe, Australia?) prohibits the drawn/written depiction of pedophilic acts.
