I don't really care? Given what those people are suffering and what they are running from, nothing Europe is going to have to deal with comes close to that horror.

DA. They aren't all suffering from anything. When the influx started, plenty of illegal immigrants from just about every other country (even Bangladesh and Pakistan) decided to join up and they are all trying to claim asylum, so that they won't be instantly kicked out. Many of them have even lived for years in another safe country, and decided to try their luck now.

That's the whole damn problem: very few of them end up getting asylum, but they all have to be fed and housed. At least some of them are voluntarily going back home after they noticed that wouldn't be getting free houses and well paid jobs like the smugglers promised them.

Seriously? You are the first person to suggest that this is true for most of the refugees. I can buy that some people are sneaking in. But it seems like most of them are fleeing ISIS.

We have our own influx of refugees (or people who should be considered refugees) who are fleeing violence in South America. No one not involved in the violence themselves should be forced to stay in a place where they risk being killed or tortured or raped. Our own immigration policies are ridiculous because even though we signed the same treaty that European countries did that gave rise to asylum, we've given the treaty our own definition so we can restrict who can qualify. And that's awful. But it would be equally awful for people who actually qualify as a refugee in Europe to be sent back.
