Re: Tropes that can ruin a fic for you
Sick/hurt characters either being a)of course i don't need to see a doctor!! (duct tapes guts back inside) or b) reeeeeeeally whiney and stupid. Or when a character has a high fever and nobody even considers giving them Tylenol or anything.
Little kids in every fic calling people Mr. or Miss First Name. I never did that in my life, and it sounds so stupid. Pwecious wittle kids of any kind.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-05 03:28 am (UTC)(link)(Mr./Mrs./Ms. Last Name pretty much isn't expected here for anyone except teachers.)

(Anonymous) 2016-02-05 04:17 am (UTC)(link)This trope can go heavily in either direction for me. On the one hand, I actually really love this trope probably 80% of the time, and am willing to suspend my disbelief a fair bit in order to go with it.
But every once in a while I read a fic where the miscommunication is just so stupid and there's no reason for it at all and it just feels forced and ridiculous, and I end up hating the whole fic intensely because of it.
