I agree with this. If you like him in spite of it, fine. But don't claim it is okay. This makes me as mad as defenders of Chris Brown or Polanski or Woody Allen.

Oh man, I just skimmed your comment earlier but now that I took the time to read it... Bowie did not know the age of the girl he slept with, she had a fake ID, she pursued him, it was a one time thing and the girl treasures the experience. You cannot question her experience with him when she not only actively pursued and acted on it, but also enjoyed it.

I don't know what Chris Brown did (but fuck him, he's a piece of shit anyway for what he did to Rihanna), but Polanski knew that girl he raped was underage, and then there's the whole part about it being rape even without calling the girl's age in to question, and Woody Allen also went after a minor and raped her too. None of the situations I described were anything like the situation with Bowie.

Ah. Okay, I did not know that. Different then if he didn't know. If he knew, I'd still say really skeevy. But if he really didn't know or even suspect she was underage, not the same thing at all.

I meant the abuse of Rihanna. Chris Brown's fans who excuse his behavior and claim she deserved it or asked for it are scum. And the fact that a lot of people in Hollywood think that as long as you are a great artist it is totally okay to rape a girl and then escape punishment. Polanski apologists are also scum. And Woody Allen as well.

Obviously we don't know exactly what happened, but she was in a club. I think by default it's reasonable to assume someone in a club is of age, unless they look especially young or something (which she didn't).

Yes, this.

(And didn't Polanski also drug the child in question?)

Yeah, she was thirteen and he drugged and sodomized her.

And threatened her afterwards.

Roman Polanski is a special kind of evil.
