I try to avoid stuff with sex in them. Yes, even fanfiction, unless it's for a pairing I really like, or it's one of those long fics where the sex is incidental, or is what the story builds up to. I'm just really not interested in sex, and I get pretty exasperated by gratuitous sex in novels. Not that I think people shouldn't be able to enjoy a bit of smut in their thrillers or anything, it's just my personal preference.

I can kinda relate - I don't mind sex itself, I've read/watched some pretty raunchy things, but if the whole point is "they have teh sexorzz" I lose interest fast.

I'm sort of the opposite. At least when it comes to books or fanfic, I avoid things that shy away from actually having sex. Like they'll hint at it, but not follow through. "And the door closed behind them" sorts of things bug me. I don't need a full on scene per say (though I won't read romance novels that aren't explicit because otherwise what's the point), but at least be clear as to what's happening. Don't try to have it both ways.

Ditto all of this!

I'm okay with a bit of non-explicit sex here and there, but I have consistently found graphic depictions sex to be either boring, squicky, or both. Off-putting in any case, particularly in live-action media and ESPECIALLY when people are getting naked every other scene solely for fanservice purposes.
