I refuse to watch the second season of Broadchurch because I googled how it ended and just the idea depresses me.

The main thing I didn't like what that Joe was found not guilty of the murder. This was largely due to the fact his confession was not admissible in court because Ellie attacked him while in custody.

I think had I not learned that so immediately after finishing Series 1, I'd have not been so bothered by it. As it was, it just really depressed me and I've not had the energy to try and get through the second season (which is now on Netflix).

Though it's not like he gets off scott free, even though he was legally found not guilty. He's shunned and basically driven out of the community.
