Black Sails, Grimm, Teen Wolf, Vampire Diaries, Game of Thrones, Blindspot, Penny Dreadful, Supergirl, Sleepy Hollow, Agents of Marvel, Agent Carter, Once Upon a Time, Royal Pains, Strike Back, Vikings - I'd like to try some of the ones that people talk about a lot

Old School - Fringe, Robin Hood (with RA), Chuck, Witchblade, Birds of Prey, Heroes, Almighty Johnsons, Babylon 5, Burn Notice, BtVS, Dead Zone, Spooks, Prison Break, Stargate Universe, Terminator: TSCC, Tru Blood, V (new one, already saw old movie)

Yes, I'm considering a lot of stuff. Not sure what to pick first.

GoT is so polarizing it's really hard to rec it to someone. The budget is so huge that it's almost worth it just for the incredible spectacle of it all, but if you don't know what it's about and haven't read the books it can be..... offputting.

I like it, but then I have read the books and I am well aware of how 3edgy5me GRRM likes to try to be in his work so I'm not bothered. But if you're not expecting some of that shit, you might be surprised.

Grimm: starts off good, really gets you hooked on the mythos and awesome (hints at an) overarching plot... But failed to deliver by the time I noped out (I finished season 4).

Vampire Diaries: starts off good, especially if you're into YA-style vampire stories and tropes, the characters really evolve over the course of the show and I personally loved the extra characters introduces later in the series (The Originals was pretty awesome for the first season). I started to feel like it was dragging on, however, and stopped after finishing season 6.

Penny Dreadful: really trippy, good if you like fucked up horror, bad if you don't like period dramas and have no patience for vagueness/unresolved plot points.

Sleepy Hollow: tries really hard to be a supernatural detective procedural and ultimately fails, in my opinion, because it takes itself too seriously. The best part about it is the friendship between the two protagonists.

Agents of SHIELD: constantly name-drops the Avengers without actually doing anything about it. I know it's a TV show with a smaller budget, but it got gradually annoying. Also, I never understood the love for Coulson and couldn't get into the other characters (except May, but there was never enough of her to salvage the show). I gave up midway through the first season.

Heroes: the first two seasons were all I watched, and they were solid. I heard it went bad from season 3, though, and never got around to finishing it...

Burn Notice: this show was so addictive, but unfortunately it went on for too long and the characters became shadows of their former selves. The first 3 seasons were great.

Prison Break: amazing show with characters you really feel sorry for, even the villains. I never finished it after the writer's strike way back, but I'd like to.

True Blood: watch it if you're into vampire tropes and enjoy a different take on it. It had a lot of potential, but I felt like the writers focused too much on the unnecessary love triangle. I stopped after the fourth season, I think.

If you ever get around to watching Once, there are three bail points to keep in mind. The end of season 1, the end of season 2, or the mid-point of season 3. I'd recommend stopping there, but the end of 1 or 2 work, just don't watch past mid season 3.

I really enjoyed the first two seasons of Teen Wolf. It starts out a little rough, but once it gets going it's an easy binge. I liked season 3, but season 4 was a hot mess and 5's only a little better.

Chuck is a lot of fun.
