I won't watch or read something when I'm given nothing but social-justice-y reasons for why I would supposedly like it (e.g. "it has lesbians/gays/trans people/Strong Women/POC/disabled people/all of the above/etc.").

To me that's the fandom equivalent of the Nice Guy(TM) argument. It tells me nothing about whether the work is any good. And if "it has (Insert Marginalized Group Here)!" is literally all you can tell me about it, then I'm going to assume that it has no other merits worth mentioning and is therefore not my bag.

This is exactly why it's taken me so long to get around to watching Sense8. Look I love having greater diversity in media, honest. But after reading the plot synopses and character descriptions...yeah no.
