My SO and I once had a giant argument about whether or not I had seen her do a line dance to Cotton Eye Joe when we were in middle school.

I fucking swear I have. She swears it has never happened.

There is no way to verify who is hallucinating wildly and who is correct.

I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't own up to having done that.

No, she wouldn't care about having done it. It's just that she doesn't remember it happening, while I do.

Some people have really weird specific memories. I remember way more details about the D&D campaign my friends and I were in 11 years ago than anyone else. I put together a digital scrapbook commemorating that 10 year anniversary and did a questionnaire for the players about their favorite memories and they couldn't remember hardly any details, just really major events (this character was killed by undead, another character was stuck with a cursed item for several sessions).

But my memory is nothing to my sister's, who remembers so many VERY specific things from games we played as children that I have absolutely no memory of. I'm all, "If you say so? I remember having those toys but not doing this, that, and the other thing with them." And it's not just that she was ~12 then when I was ~7, she just has a hugely detailed memory for certain events.
