Christopher Tolkien wouldn't let them make a Silm adaptation anyway, Hobbit movies or no. He didn't even like the LOTR adaptation that much.

And damn, some people here have no chill.

I'm super curious what will happen when he dies. I wish him well but it's going to happen in my lifetime with enough time for the production of something to occur if the Silmarillion rights are sold.

I know one of Tolkien's grandsons was an extra in the Hobbit (and I think LOTR too?) and one of the grandsons (maybe the same one?) participates in places like ToRN. Do you know if there is a grandchild who is like-mind to Christopher? I feel like the films have been lucrative enough that the studios would be willing to shovel a pile of cash towards the estate and I haven't gotten the feeling from the grandchildren I've seen interviewed that they'd say no. But, that's just an assumption I've been going under.

Does anyone know anything about this?
