I don't think I can vote for Hillary Clinton.

I know, I know, if she wins the general and I don't vote for her, it's theoretically casting a vote for a Republican white house. Even so. I am considering switching parties and voting Kasich or Trump if it comes down to it.

I honestly don't think it makes a difference. After the new emails where she was arguing against after promising to stand up for them in 2008, I can't trust Clinton to keep any of her promises, achievable or not, so what does it matter what promises she makes? What does it matter if she fakes nice until she's in the seat of power? Isn't an enemy you know, better than an enemy you can't predict?

Oh my god why would you vote for Trump

Re: Politics Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Why not? It's a shitshow and most of his proposals are too stupid for Congress to pass. It's bluster and won't happen for real.

won't happen for real

What is "things said about Adolf Hilter" for 500?

If you think Trump is as serious a threat as Hitler was you're probably insane yourself and I'm giving up on this conversation.

Cruz would be though. He really does believe the garbage he says. A Trump presidency would be a train wreck, but a Cruz presidency would be an international and domestic disaster. Plus there is the Putin factor to consider, as long as only one side on the Russia/US arsenal is an ego ridden true believer we are fine, if they both are then we might just do it.

Re: Politics Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. I wouldn't vote Trump to stop Trump, I'd vote Trump to STOP CRUZ who has the potential to do a shit ton more damage.

Cruz really believes we are in the End Times and that Armageddon is supposed to be happening. We cannot let a man like that end up with the nuclear football.

DA

Trump has no real stances anyway, you could get the latest "cool" celebrity or sexy supermodel to tell him climate change is real and he should go green and he'd do it to prove he's cool. I'd much rather that than a religious zealot

I'm glad someone else is rightly scared of Cruz, he's fucking terrifying

just, even on a personal level, his face gives me the creeps in the same way watching a documentary about a serial killer and seeing his mugshot does. I really think he's a legit sociopath.

Fairly certain you're trolling, but if not, or if you are and are also thinking of voting for him: for all his talk of "making America great again!" he doesn't command respect, especially internationally. For all my not-fond-at-all feelings for the Republican establishment, they weren't initially worried about him because they thought he was a joke. Like, I'm not a big fan of my country, but I already had eight years of apologizing for GWB, I don't want even four of having to apologize for Trump. US politics is a shitshow, but do we really have to vote for the biggest xenophobic (or at least, most unapologetic about appealing directly to xenophobes) clown in the Republican clown car?

Re: Politics Thread

Yes, you do. Vote for Trump, because he will turn the USA into something more obviously like Berlusconi's Italy. It is the fastest way to get the USA out of a global leadership role and off the UN Security Council.

Face it: You guys are too insular to even understand global issues. The planet will be safer once America is off its throne.

Yawn. You're boring.

This. Thank you.

AYRT

Yes, if it keeps the xenophobic Christian zealot who wants the Godstates of America off the Republican ticket.

I feel far more secure that dumb shit like an impossible, unfundable wall between the US and Mexico will never be built, than Cruz trying to implement incremental "religious freedom" reforms.

:( Hilary is a solid candidate, though. Trump is like, the anti-christ. He's even gotten criticism from the Pope.
