tbh I started shipping it after that episode because it's fucked up and creepy (I also ship Samifer so I guess it's not surprising that I'd dig Dean/Amara as well). I didn't get it until I watched the show. I find him very charismatic on screen (with the caveat that I haven't watched the show for the last few seasons).

I've found that with a few actors that the photos in general don't always translate what makes them attractive. And for others, the photogenic qualities are all that they have.

You know OP, some people think dark, borderline (or flat out) non-con ships are hot. Most people are smart enough to know fantasy =/= reality and if Dean was a real person, they wouldn't be encouraging him to get with Amara. I'm thinking they know in canon Dean has no free will over his feelings towards her and that Dean would never be happy with her. However, fanon is a totally different story. For shippers of any Supernatural ship, fanon is all we have.

I don't like Dean/Amara at all. I've always preferred ships were the people in the couple make each other better people. However, I'm not going to try and ruin Dean and Amara's shippers good time by throwing judgement their way. Ship and let ship. Fandom would be a hugely better place if we all stopped being assholes to each other over ships.

I think that it's a twisted version of the soulmate trope. They are meant for each other and therefore their union is inevitable.

Amara doesn't act like she has chosen this, and appears to be affected by her attraction to Dean. So it's not straight-up non-con.
